Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Fabrizio Romano tweeted that RB Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai is close to joining RB Leipzig.

The Hungary international – who was a target for Spurs, according to 90min – looks to have earned a move to another Red Bull-owned side.

However, instead of feeling disappointed about missing out on a target, some Tottenham fans feel that this might open up another door.

Here’s the deal. RB Leipzig currently possess another player who is believed to be in Tottenham’s sights – Marcel Sabitzer.

That is according to Sport Bild, who state that Jose Mourinho is keen to sign the Austria international in 2021. The report reveals that the Bundesliga outfit value him at €30 million (£27 million).

Both Sabitzer and Szoboszlai are attacking midfielders.

While Julian Nagelsmann presumably wouldn’t mind having both of them, Tottenham fans think the latter’s arrival could mean a departure for the former.

If that is to be the case, Tottenham would be getting a fantastic player.

Sabitzer is an all-action, box-to-box midfielder with a lot of quality in his locker.

In 44 appearances last season, he scored 16 goals and recorded 11 assists, which is simply brilliant.

Of course, you might argue that he’d struggle to break into a midfield containing Tanguy Ndombele, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso, Moussa Sissoko and others.

However, if a player like Sabitzer is available, Mourinho would be silly to turn him down.

Let’s have a look at what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying…
