Everton’s Henry Onyekuru has joined Galatasaray on loan.
Some Everton supporters have taken to social media site Twitter to plead with the Merseyside club to sign some players after it was confirmed that talented youngster Henry Onyekuru has joined Galatasaray on loan.
The club’s official website state that the 21-year-old forward will spend the 208/19 campaign on loan at the Turkish champions, having spent last season out on loan at Belgian side Anderlecht.
Onyekuru is the fourth senior player to depart Everton this summer either as a transfer or on loan, following Luke Garbutt who joined Oxford United on loan and sold duo Wayne Rooney and Ramiro Funes Mori.
As of yet, the Toffees haven’t made any new signings and with pre-season now underway and the start of the Premier League campaign just four weeks away, supporters are starting to get a little anxious.
Writing on Twitter, several Everton fans have pleaded with the club to make some signings.
Newly-appointed manager Marco Silva will be keen to strengthen his Everton squad this summer, but it seems the Toffees are being patient in their approach and making sure they target the right sort of player.
Last summer the club made several mistakes in what looked like a scattergun approach to signings, spending way too much on ageing players and dishing out big wages with little short-term success.
This time around Everton will want to make sure they acquire players who can develop at Goodison Park into top-quality players, as that will be their best chance of breaking in to the Premier League’s top six.
Players such as Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure (RMC) and Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne (The Telegraph) have been linked, but up until now the club’s fans are still waiting for their first signing.
