Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that Ibrahima Konate was “outstanding” against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool got the better of Antonio Conte’s Tottenham 2-1 in the Premier League on Sunday.
Mohamed Salah scored both the goals for the Merseyside club in North London.
However, Liverpool had to be defensively very alert, especially in the second half.
Klopp was impressed by how Konate played against Tottenham, but the Liverpool boss has warned the 23-year-old that it is only going to get more intense for him.
Jurgen Klopp on Ibrahima Konate for Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur
Klopp said about Konate: “Absolutely, absolutely. Ibou first half already he was outstanding. A top game, absolutely.
“Of course we are happy to have him, but we didn’t have him a lot, that’s how it is. This is now really intense for him, he had now two starts in a row. I hope he is fine and we can go from here.”

Encouraging
The match against Tottenham Hotspur was Ibrahima Konate’s first start for Liverpool in the Premier League this season.
And he did well.
The problem with the youngster during his time at Liverpool had been injuries and fitness.
Yes, we know that Liverpool have a very strong and competitive defensive department, but Konate is a very good player who is only 23 and can play week in and week out alongside Virgil van Dijk in defence.
Fitness has been a big concern for the 23-year-old, and it will be interesting to see how the France international centre-back copes if he gets a run in the team.
