Celtic have managed to hold onto Moussa Dembele this summer so far, but now is the time for suitors Everton to put the Scottish champions to the test.

The Sun reported earlier this summer that Celtic would not consider a sale until they had qualified for the Champions League group stages.

Now after an 8-4 aggregate win over Astana, Celtic have accomplished that feat.

The Scottish Sun claimed last month Everton were prepared to spend £30 million on Dembele, and they have failed to sign a striker since.

The transfer window may soon be closing, but Everton have a brief opportunity to try and tempt Dembele to Goodison.

Celtic have secured a windfall already after qualifying for the Champions League, and most importantly they did so without requiring Dembele, who missed the ties with an injury which keeps him out until the end of the month.

Everton may not have Champions League football like Celtic do, but they can offer the opportunity to play for them in the Europa League, and the chance to play in England’s Premier League should be a huge draw for him.

Dembele netted 32 goals in 49 games last season for Celtic, and big season in England could win him a surprise place in France’s World Cup squad. A repeat of the same in Scotland is unlikely to be enough.
