The Chelsea striker would be an excellent addition to the Everton squad.

A report emanating from France today claims that Ligue 1 side Lille are lining up a €40 million (£36.6 million) bid for Blues forward Michy Batshuayi, according to France Football, and following Ronald Koeman’s comments suggesting that the Toffees need another striker, now is the perfect time for the Dutchman to enter the race to sign the Belgian hitman.

The 23-year-old joined Chelsea from Marseille in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be in the region of £33.2 million but has played a peripheral role for Antonio Conte’s side since then, making just two Premier League starts.

Batshuayi still possesses undoubted quality, however, and has plenty left to offer at the very highest level, if given the opportunity of regular first-team action.

The Belgium international would be the ideal addition to the Everton squad, with his ability to run in behind the opposition defence, what with his raw power and pace.

He is well capable in the air, and is accomplished in playing with his back to goal, as well as stretching the opposition with tireless runs into the channels, which makes him ideally suited to playing the lone striker role.

The Chelsea man is no slouch in front of goal either, and at the age of just 23, he has the potential to become of of Europe’s most dangerous hitmen.

And Koeman should not hesitate to bring Batshuayi to Goodison Park this summer, if he truly wants to take his Everton side to the next level.
