Manchester City have reportedly reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon to sell 22-year-old defender Pedro Porro.
According to Record, the Portuguese giants will make the fullback’s two-year loan deal permanent after impressing for the UEFA Champions League side.
Pedro Porro joined Sporting in 2020. And the defender has won plenty of admirers during his loan stint with the club, with the right-back flourishing in the Primera Liga.
With City having an abundance of right-backs, selling Pedro Porro for good makes plenty of sense for Pep Guardiola and director of football Txiki Begiristain.
Kyle Walker is the club’s number one right-back, whilst Joao Cancelo can operate in the position if needed. And whilst City have a €20m (£17m) buy-back clause for Pedro Porro, it is unlikely that this will be activated.
Indeed, Pedro Porro becomes the latest in a long line of players to be snapped up by City and eventually sold on without featuring for the first-team.
