Ineos’s takeover of sporting operations at Old Trafford has led to a clear improvement in Manchester United’s recruitment process.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is shaking things up at Man United, totally revamping the club’s scouting to get them back on top of English football.
Every one of Ineos’ signings paid off last season, and they will be hoping for similar success with this summer’s arrivals.
After a year to settle in, last summer’s arrivals will be expected to push on further in the 2025/26 campaign under Ruben Amorim and his staff.
Leny Yoro was particularly impressive, and it appears the club’s scouts never had any reservations about his potential.
Man United scouts were impressed with Leny Yoro before he signed

Last summer, United outmanoeuvred Real Madrid to land Yoro, a move that sent a clear message about their ambitions.
Yoro joined for £52m, and even though his first season saw him working under three different managers and dealing with injuries, he still managed to impress across the campaign.
It has now emerged that the club’s scouting department had always been confident in what he could become.
The Athletic reports that United scouts “marvelled at his bravery and committed defending.”
Their evaluation noted his “athletic profile, assured positioning, awareness and concentration when defending,” earning top marks in their assessments.
Yoro’s “future leadership potential” was noted by staff after his pre-transfer meeting, suggesting he could grow into a more significant role in Amorim’s squad.
Leny Yoro is showing signs of fulfilling expectations at Man United
There were questions last season about whether Yoro would secure a starting spot for United, but he quickly established himself under Amorim.
Ineos deviated from their usual transfer strategy to bring in Yoro, a move that has so far been justified by his impact on the team.
Yoro has fitted seamlessly into Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system with his passing range making him an ideal fit. Amorim has even given him additional responsibilities to carry the ball forward and play through lines. His development will be something to watch closely this season.
