Novak Djokovic hasn’t had the best year, but when it comes to Wimbledon, history suggests you should never count him out.

If anyone knows what it takes to win at Wimbledon, it’s Djokovic. He’s lifted the trophy seven times and has a record-equalling eighth title within reach.

Nick Kyrgios – who has faced Djokovic in a final – recently called the Serbian the greatest player ever.

Kyrgios is far from alone in that view. Djokovic’s legacy in the sport is secure, even if the younger generation is on the rise.

At 38, Djokovic’s days at the very top might be numbered, but he’s given a clear sign that this year’s tournament is still a priority.

Novak Djokovic has officially landed at SW19, confirming his arrival with a social media post on Sunday. The 24-time Grand Slam champion shared a photo at the All England Club, captioned: “Hello Wimbledon.”

By turning up with his full kit in hand, Djokovic’s message feels like a warning shot. He only needs one more Grand Slam trophy to clinch the all-time record – and it seems to be the final goal of his outstanding career.

It is undoubtedly the earliest he has arrived at Wimbledon in some time, with over a week to go until the main draw gets underway.

Most players on the ATP Tour won’t be thrilled to see Djokovic arriving early and making his presence felt.

Although he’s no longer the dominant force he once was – posting a 21-8 record in 2025 – Djokovic still has the ability to challenge anyone on his day.

Despite a rocky start to the year, he’s started to find form recently. He reached the semi-finals of the French Open, only losing to world number one Jannik Sinner, and won the Geneva Open just before that.

He has previously worn a knee strap due to past injuries, including meniscus surgery a year ago, but there were no signs of restriction in his latest training videos.

After an already remarkable career, another title tilt at Wimbledon wouldn’t surprise anyone – and based on early signs, Djokovic clearly believes it’s still possible.
