Novak Djokovic kept his US Open campaign rolling with a four-set win over Cameron Norrie under the lights of Arthur Ashe Stadium.

While he did drop another set, it was still a strong and comfortable performance from Djokovic.

He’s starting to find his rhythm, especially with so many top seeds already knocked out of the tournament.

With plenty of big names already gone, Djokovic has a real chance to make something happen this year. He’ll be keeping an eye on Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, hoping they don’t hit top form while he keeps picking up wins.

Reflecting on the match against Norrie, Djokovic admitted the Brit caught him off guard at times.

After the match, Djokovic spoke to the media about both his own play and what he made of Norrie’s performance.

He started with an assessment of his own game, saying: “My playing was good. Particularly the third and fourth sets. I started swinging through the ball a bit more.”

He then turned his attention to Norrie: “I was pleasantly surprised by Norrie’s level. He was playing really aggressive and I am not used to playing him with him playing so close to the line and him taking the ball so early, particularly on the forehand side, so credit to him for fighting and playing some really good level, particularly in the second set and beginning of the third.

Jan-Lennard Struff next up for Novak Djokovic at US Open: Head-to-head record examined

The next challenge for Djokovic is a very different one – facing Jan-Lennard Struff, whose powerful serve poses a completely different threat.

The German is coming off a strong performance himself, having swept aside Frances Tiafoe in straight sets. He’ll carry plenty of belief into their upcoming match.

That confidence might be tested though if he dwells on their head-to-head history – Djokovic leads 7-0 over Struff.

Plenty have struggled against Djokovic over their careers, and Struff hasn’t been any different.

In fact, he has only ever taken one set off Djokovic across those seven meetings.

Both are nearing the end of their careers but continue to defy expectations. We’ll see soon enough if Struff can pull off what would be a remarkable upset at this year’s US Open.
