Nottingham Forest’s Jorge Grant has been in form, but was left out last night by Notts County.
Jorge Grant has had a phenomenal season so far on loan at Notts County but last night he did not make the starting XI.
The Nottingham Forest winger has scored 17 goals in all competitions including 14 in League Two.
Last night he was omitted from the starting line up against Carlisle.
Grant has not suffered an injury, but instead was simply dropped after his manager felt the hectic schedule was catching up with the 23-year-old.
The winger came on for the final seven minutes of County’s 2-1 win over Carlisle to close out the win.
Former Notts County player Mark Stallard told BBC Radio Nottingham that Grant’s performances have dipped and he needed resting.
Grant’s last goal for Notts County came a month ago on January 12, and so it was probably the right time to give him a rest.
The Nottingham Forest prospect has played more games this season for Notts County than he has in his entire career so far at his parent club, so it is only natural that it is catching up with him.
Forest fans should be encouraged that he is being managed sensibly, and hope he can pick up form before knuckling down and trying to impress manager Aitor Karanka in pre-season.
