Posh named a number of their senior players in an under-23 match against Sunderland at the ABAX Stadium, but they were comprehensively beaten.
Sunderland’s youngsters ran out 4-1 winners against a strong Posh side, with Forest loanee Cummings struggling to impress again.
Cummings made a blistering start at Peterborough after moving from the City Ground, but his form has badly stalled.
The Scottish forward now has failed to hit the back of the net in his last 11 appearances across all competitions.
Cummings’ form may leave Forest asking questions over his long term future back at the City Ground.
Aitor Karanka seemingly had doubts over Cummings this summer, and he will need to start finding his shooting boots again soon, if he is to prove that he has what it takes to make it back at Forest.
