Bournemouth have reportedly entered the running to sign the Nottingham Forest target from Blackburn Rovers.

Nottingham Forest’s hopes of signing Connor Mahoney appear to have taken another hit with Bournemouth entering talks with Blackburn Rovers winger.

Mahoney is out of contract at Blackburn this summer and has already informed manager Tony Mowbray of his decision to quit Ewood Park.

The 20-year-old had looked to be heading to Forest until it was reported by The Nottingham Post that the Reds’ Championship rivals, Middlesbrough, had made an 11th-hour approach after the deal hit a snag.

It was claimed that Forest and Blackburn’s inability to agree a fee for the player – as is required because of his age – had led to a hold up.

And Sky Sports are now reporting that Bournemouth are now in advanced talks with Mahoney, for whom a move to the Premier League could have greater appeal.

Having said that, Mahoney may find competition fierce at Dean Court, with wingers Josh King, Jordon Ibe, Ryan Fraser, Junior Stanislas, Max Gradel and Marc Pugh already on the Cherries’ books, which could offer renewed hope to both Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough.

Do Nottingham Forest still have a chance of landing Mahoney?
