The fixture between the two relegation rivals genuinely has a cup final feel to it.

After Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, their upcoming fixture against fellow relegation battlers Blackburn Rovers took on a whole new meaning with just six games to play.
Thankfully for Forest, all their immediate relegation rivals on the night lost – including Blackburn – meaning that the Reds remain just two points above the drop zone with six games left to play.
Both teams have a fixture before they meet on Good Friday, with Forest taking on Huddersfield Town and Blackburn facing Barnsley at home, but the significance of this fixture cranked up a notch with both sides losing in midweek.
As there’s so few games left to play, victory either side could well condemn the other to a place in the drop zone, and that team would then have just four games left to try and escape relegation to League One.

As the table currently stands ahead of Burton Albion’s fixture with Newcastle United on Wednesday evening, Rovers are two points behind Forest with a marginally worse goal difference, while Bristol City are sandwiched between the two on 41 points.
New Forest boss Mark Warburton is yet to taste victory at The City Ground, but a win in that fixture would go an awful long way to keeping the club afloat – irrespective of what happens against Huddersfield on Saturday.
