Nottingham Forest are ‘very keen’ on Werder Bremen’s Germany international and Marvin Ducksch could double his wages if he makes a £13 million move from the Bundesliga to the Premier League this January.

Steve Cooper’s side have enjoyed some success when raiding the German market since securing their long-awaited return to England’s top-flight. And if he can emulate the impact of Taiwo Awoniyi, Moussa Niakhate and Orel Managala, Marvin Ducksch could be money well spent.

According to Sport BILD, Nottingham Forest are not just ‘keen’ on the newly-capped Germany international. They are ‘very keen’.

What’s more, the deep-pocketed Midlanders may be willing to double Ducksch’s salary, from £35,000-a-week to nearly £70,000-a-week at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest want Marvin Ducksch

Werder Bremen are likely to hold out for a fee similar to the one Borussia Dortmund paid for last season’s Bundesliga Golden Boot winner, Niklas Fullkrug securing a £13 million move to Signal Iduna Park over the summer.

Ducksch, like Fullkrug, has proven himself to be a reliable source of goals in Werder green.

The versatile attacker, arguably more a winger than a classic centre-forward, scored 12 times last term. Ducksch already has six goals and four assists to his name in 2023/24, taking on a talismanic role since Fullkrug’s departure.

Hailed by Germany boss

“(Ducksch) brings a good amount of madness, which we need. He can be very valuable, especially as a joker,” Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann explained after handing Ducksch a maiden international call-up, highlighting the 29-year-old’s unique brand of creative chaos (BuliNews).

“He has now got a very good record, and has helped to stabilize Bremen with his performances. His set pieces are very good and he’s a good finisher.”

Set-pieces and finishing; two attributes which could come in very handy at Nottingham Forest. Cooper’s team have scored only 14 times in 12 Premier League games so far this season.
