The Algeria international has completed a move from the City Ground side to Greek giants Olympiacos.

Nottingham Forest have announced in a club statement that Hillal Soudani has joined Greek giants Olympiacos for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old was signed by the Championship side from Dinamo Zagreb last August, his record with the Croatian side boasting 86 goals and 54 assists from 196 appearances according to Transfermarkt.

Soudani’s time at the City Ground began brightly as he scored two goals in his first four appearances, both as a substitute in Championship fixtures against Reading and Wigan Athletic in August.

However, injury curtailed his time at the East Midlands club and he went on to make just three starts from eight appearances, with only one start in the league, as the Reds finished ninth in the table.

Here is how some Trickies fans reacted on Twitter to the news of Soudani’s departure:

Forest are due to play Olympiacos – who like the Reds are owned by Evangelos Marinakis – at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium next month as part of their pre-season programme.

The Reds’ first pre-season game takes place in late June against Alfreton Town, with nine friendlies announced so far including against Premier League side Crystal Palace (official website).
