Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United will miss out on Palmeiras midfielder Danilo to Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest, according to The Athletic.

Arsenal and Leeds target Danilo to undergo Nottingham Forest medical

The report has claimed that Arsenal, Chelsea and AS Monaco all want to sign Danilo from Palmeiras in the January transfer window.

Earlier this week, CM reported that Leeds are keen on securing the services of the 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder.

However, The Athletic are now reporting that the youngster is moving to Nottingham Forest instead.

Forest have agreed a fee of €20million (£17.8million) with Palmeiras for Danilo.

The talented and promising Brazilian will reportedly arrive in England for a medical this weekend.

Interesting move

It is quite interesting that it is Forest and not Leeds or Arsenal who have been able to sign Danilo.

The Reds are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the campaign.

And Forest won promotion back to the Premier League only at the end of last season.

Leeds have been in the Premier League for a while now, while Arsenal could actually end up winning the league title this season.
