Darren Bent has given his take on talkSPORT (8:46am, September 21, 2021) on the prospect of Steve Cooper becoming the new manager of Nottingham Forest.
Sky Sports have reported this morning that Cooper has agreed to take charge of Forest.
The report has claimed that the 41-year-old former Swansea City boss has agreed a deal with the Reds, and that the announcement will be made today.
Former Aston Villa and Derby County striker Bent does not seem too optimistic about the potential appointment of Cooper and has praised Chris Hughton.
Forest sacked Hughton as their manager on September 16 following their sixth loss from seven Championship games.
Bent said on talkSPORT (8:46am, September 21, 2021): “Chris Hughton, one thing we know about him is that his management, he usually gets the best out of players. If he can’t do it, then I don’t know where they go.”

Forest are having a torrid season and are at the foot of the Championship table at the moment with four points from eight games.
The Reds have scored seven goals and conceded 12 in the league so far this campaign.
If appointed, Cooper will have to hit the ground running and start getting results.

Interestingly, Forest won this past weekend.
The Reds got the better of Huddersfield Town 2-0 away from home in the Championship.
Cooper parted company with Swansea in July, having led the Swans to Championship playoffs in each of his two seasons in charge of the Welsh club.
