Nottingham Forest and Swansea City look set to be disappointed in their reported pursuit of Liverpool defensive midfielder Pedro Chirivella.

Earlier this month, The Mirror claimed that Liverpool were willing to offload Chirivella in the summer transfer window.

It was reported that the 21-year-old was rated at £5 million, and that Championship clubs Forest and Swansea were interested in the youngster.

Missing out

However, it seems that both the Reds and the Swans are set to miss out on the talented and promising young defensive midfielder.

According to Goal.com, Chirivella is leaving Liverpool for Norwegian side Rosenborg in the summer transfer window after an agreement was reached between the two clubs.

It has been reported that Rosenborg will pay the Reds £2.4 million upfront in transfer fees, while the total including performance-related bonuses will come up to £3.5m.

Disappointment

The former Valencia prospect may have failed to make a breakthrough at Liverpool, but the Spaniard is a very talented player.

Forest and Swansea will be disappointed that they are reportedly set to miss out on Chirivella, especially as he would have cost just £2.4m in transfer fees upfront.
