Nottingham Forest have reportedly submitted a bid for PSV Eindhoven’s midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, with the midfielder looking increasingly likely to make the move to England with Forest believed to be at the front of the queue for the Ivorian’s signature.

According to The Athletic, and also confirmed in Dutch outlet Eindhovens Dagblad, Forest have launched an ‘ambitious’ bid for the 25-year-old midfielder.

The powerful midfielder has previously been linked with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal, but it seems that Steve Cooper’s side has jumped to the front of the queue and have launched an audacious bid.

According to the same report from The Athletic, the Dutch side value the midfielder at around £30 million, and with four years left on his new contract, which he signed last summer, it won’t be easy for Forest to prize him away from Holland.

‘There is still no deal, as things stand’

The reports from the Netherlands are slightly more pragmatic on Forest’s offer with Eindhovens Dagblad, a source close to PSV, has confirmed that an offer has been made for the midfielder, but it is reportedly well short of the Dutch side’s valuation of the Ivorian international.

Sources have reportedly told ED (Eindhovens Dagblad) that the midfielder will ‘definitely’ leave Eindhoven this summer.

Having previously been linked with some of the Premier League’s top clubs, Sangare would represent a major coup for Forest. With Steve Cooper’s side looking to build on their Premier League survival last season with signings like Sangare, who has UEFA Champions League experience, Forest would add a major signing to their ranks ahead of the new season.

According to FBREF, the midfielder is a definitive all-rounder, he excels in progressing passing (7.58 passes per 90), tackles (2.66 per 90), and successful take-ons (1.33 per 90). Forest would be bringing in a superb midfielder who, you’d suspect, would take to the Premier League like a duck to water.
