The Forest striker was responding to former Peterborough United team-mate Jermaine Anderson.
Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga has once again hinted at his imminent return from injury on Twitter.
The striker sent this message as a reply on Twitter to former Peterborough United team-mate Jermaine Anderson – who posted this on Instagram regarding the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win of 2014:
Assombalonga suffered a hideous knee injury 13 months ago in a game against Wigan Athletic.
This came after the striker, signed from Peterborough in 2014, came out firing in his City Ground career – scoring 15 goals in 32 appearances.
But his tweet suggests he is on the mend, as is Anderson who suffered a serious knee injury of his own in December that has ruled him out for the rest of this season.
Assombalonga is now back in light training and attended Nottingham Forest’s derby game with Derby County at the weekend.
His absence for the past year has been keenly felt, with Forest struggling for goals. Now he is stepping up his efforts of a comeback and perhaps after the international break Forest will be able to call on their main goal-getter once again.
