Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio has completed marginally more dribbles than Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Bakary Sako this season.
Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio currently leads the dribbling stats in the Championship for the season so far.
Antonio has completed 90 dribbles this term and it is a total that no other player in England’s second-tier has been able to match.
| Team | Dribbles | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Michail Antonio | Forest | 90 | 39 | 3363 |
| Bakary Sako | Wolves | 89 | 34 | 2844 |
| Nathan Redmond | Norwich | 84 | 36 | 2601 |
| Marc Pugh | Bournemouth | 59 | 37 | 2634 |
| Callum Wilson | Bournemouth | 58 | 38 | 3274 |
| Kazenga Lua Lua | Brighton | 56 | 27 | 1420 |
| João Teixeira | Brighton | 55 | 28 | 1951 |
At the moment Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Bakary Sako is his nearest competitor, but Antonio will be hoping to keep his title as the Championship’s dribble-king until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old has been in fine form throughout the campaign and the fact that he is so keen to take his opponent on shows just how confident he is at the moment.
Antonio already has 13 goals for the season and he has become one of Forest’s main attacking outlets, with his buccaneering style proving to be a threat to every team in the division.
The former Sheffield Wednesday man is blessed with pace and power and defenders have clearly struggled to stop his momentum once he starts running at them.
Antonio’s dribbling ability will be key as Dougie Freedman’s side look to claim a play-off spot, with the side currently eight points adrift of the top six with seven fixtures remaining.
