The City Ground side’s bitter rivals have recruited Rooney, who is set to join the Pride Park outfit as player-coach in January.

Nottingham Forest ex-player Stan Collymore has given his honest opinion on Derby County recruiting Wayne Rooney as a player-coach.
The Rams made headlines on Tuesday when it was confirmed that the England and Manchester United legend would be joining the Pride Park outfit in January (BBC Sport).
Rooney is currently on the books of Major League Soccer side DC United, having joined them from Everton in July 2018, and has scored 23 goals in 41 league games for them.
The 33-year-old forward has agreed to join the Rams on an initial 18-month contract at the start of 2020 despite having more than two seasons left on his deal with DC United.
When asked by a Derby fan on Twitter about his views on the Rooney deal, the City Ground cult hero replied:
Derby have already had two recent England greats on their books over the past 18 months, with Frank Lampard managing the first team last season, as well as Ashley Cole linking up with the club this year.
With 53 goals in 120 international caps, Rooney is England’s all-time record goalscorer and second most-capped player, behind Peter Shilton, while during 13 years with United he won the Premier League five times, the Champions League, the FA Cup and three League Cups.
