The out of favour Leicester striker should be a target for Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest will surely be aiming to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window as they look to aid their push for promotion to the Premier League and Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa is one of the players that they should consider bringing in.
As reported by The Sun, Ulloa is set to be allowed to leave Leicester in January, with the Argentine’s playing time having been very limited so far this season – he has yet to feature in the Premier League and has made just two appearances overall, both of which came in the EFL Cup.
Forest, who are currently in eighth place in the Championship, already have an impressive goalscorer at their disposal in Daryl Murphy, who has scored seven times in 15 league appearances so far this campaign.
The arrival of Ulloa, however, would help to ease the burden on Murphy somewhat, with Forest currently lacking experienced and reliable competition in that area of the pitch.
Ulloa has previously impressed in the Championship for Brighton & Hove Albion – he scored 23 goals in 50 appearances in England’s second tier – while he also made an impact in his first season at Leicester as he scored 11 goals in 37 Premier League games.
The goals have dried up since then but Ulloa has mainly been a fringe player for Leicester in recent seasons, with Jamie Vardy taking centre stage.
Joining Forest would enable Ulloa to feature regularly as a substitute and perhaps even play some games alongside Murphy if manager Mark Warburton was to consider changing formation.
In any case, Ulloa is definitely an option worth pursuing for Forest.
