Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Sheyi Ojo from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to Goal.com.

It has been reported that Reading and Huddersfield Town are also looking to secure the services of the 23-year-old winger.

The report has added that Liverpool will let the youngster leave this summer, either on loan or on a permanent basis.

Leaving Liverpool

Ojo has been on the books of Liverpool since 2011, but the winger has made only a handful of appearances for the first team.

The winger has been out on loan at a number of clubs in recent years, including Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Reims.

The former England Under-21 international spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Rangers and played under Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard told The Scottish Sun in July 2019 that Ojo “has got everything in the locker”, but the winger could not make a huge impact at Ibrox and struggled for consistency.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the 23-year-old scored one goal and provided five assists in 19 Scottish Premiership games, and scored one goal in six Europa League appearances for Rangers in 2019-20.

It is hard to see Ojo establish himself in the first team at Liverpool, and a move to Forest – who narrowly missed out on the Championship playoffs this past season and will be be aiming for automatic promotion in 2020-21 – could be beneficial for him.
