It had appeared that Nottingham Forest had missed out on Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella.

It had appeared that the Championship side had possibly missed out on the 21-year-old however, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that Rosenborg had seen £3.5 million bid – which included a buy-back clause – accepted.
However, it appears that the door may still be open for Forest to sign Chirivella this summer. The Liverpool Echo is reporting that, after talks, the Spaniard has turned down the chance to join the Norwegian side but remains interested in a move away.
And with the Liverpool Echo adding that Chirivella is either looking for a switch to Spain or another club in England, it appears that Forest still have a fantastic chance of getting the prospect through the City Ground door if they remain keen.

Aitor Karanka’s men have arguably done some superb business in the window thus far, and go into their clash with Bristol City on the opening day of the season with many tipping them to be dark horses to go up.
Some may argue that they do not necessarily need another holding midfielder, but perhaps Karanka may be considering his options now that it appears that Chirivella will not be heading to Rosenborg after all.
