According to The Belfast Telegraph, Nottingham Forest have beaten Leicester City and Derby County to Dale Taylor.

It has been reported that the 16-year-old will join Championship club Forest in the summer transfer window after leaving his current club Linfield.

The promising striker was wanted by Derby and Premier League club Leicester as well, but it is Forest who have won the race to his signature, according to the report.

One for the future

Taylor is a very talented striker who can only get better and develop even further in the coming years.

Forest are a very ambitious club who are aiming to clinch promotion from the Championship to the Premier League at the end of the season.

The Reds are fifth in the Championship table at the moment with 60 points from 37 matches.

The Northern Irish teenager is not ready for the first team at Forest yet, but perhaps in the next two or three years, he will be.

Huge praise

Taylor is rated highly in Northern Ireland, with his Linfield manager David Healy raving about him previously.

As quoted in The Belfast Telegraph, Healy said about the striker last year: “Dale has a really bright future.

“He’s a chunk of a lad and is a strong, tough boy and tough mentally. Dale has all the attributes.”
