Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Paul Mukairu from Antalyaspor in the January transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic have reported this morning that Mukairu is high on the list of targets for Championship club Forest.

Forest have been considering a bid for the 21-year-old forward in the summer of the 2022.

The report has added that the Reds could make a bid for the youngster in the January transfer window, as they aim to finish in the Championship top six this season.

Forest are ninth in the Championship table at the moment with 34 points from 25 matches, six points behind sixth-placed Huddersfield Town, who have played 26 games.

Paul Mukairu to join Nottingham Forest in January?

Ajansspor reported in August 2021 that Forest wanted to sign Mukairu from Antalyaspor in the summer of 2021.

The Red made an offer £2 million for the Nigerian forward, but Turkish club Antalyaspor turned it down.

It seems that Forest remain keen on the 21-year-old.

Mukairu is a versatile attacking player who can operate as a striker or out wide.

The Antalyaspor no. 12 has made 14 starts and three substitute appearances in the Turkish Super Lig so far this season.

The 21-year-old has scored three goals in those games.
