The Kuwaiti FA is looking for a head after the Forest owner reportedly stepped down.

Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi has certainly shown himself to be something of a controversial figure since he took ownership at the City Ground.

He is not exactly popular with the club’s fans because of his transfer policies and Forest fans are excited that he appears to be on his way out of the club.

But leaving Forest is not the only departure he will be making.

He has made headlines in his homeland of Kuwait this week after stepping down as the chairman of the newly formed Kuwaiti FA – after just over three months.

The Kuwaiti Times reports that he stepped down this week amid criticism of the FA’s disciplinary system which has seen one team, Al-Arabi Sports Club pull out of the league. The report also suggests that Salmiya SC is also set to withdraw from the league.

The Forest owner has clearly not been making friends in this role either in recent weeks in what is, admittedly, a shambolic system he took over in August.

Forest fans will hope that he can oversee a smooth transition of power in the weeks to come.
