Nottingham Forest are in a state of limbo as June reaches it’s midway point, with no manager and uncertainty over the ownership.

Current owner Fawaz Al Hasawi attempted to allay concerns earlier this week, telling the club’s official website that work is going on behind the scenes, and there would be a further update when there is news to deliver.

One interesting point mentioned was that he confirmed he is working to appoint a director of football, stating: “I have been working hard to recruit a director of football. Discussions have been very positive with a number of candidates and I am confident we can reach an agreement.”

Reports emerging from Italy last night indicate he may be closing in on his target.

Italian website Firenze Viola report Forest have offered a role to Pedro Pereira, the former sporting director of Fiorentina.

The report states he has received an important offer and will decide whether or not to take it, imminently.

Pereira has just left his role at Fiorentina after one season – a decision made of his own accord, with Viola News reporting this week he is currently back in his homeland of Portugal, where he previously worked with Sporting Braga, weighing up his next move.
