- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Nottingham Forest have not given up their pursuit of their top striker target this summer.
We had reported that Nottingham Forest had agreed a fee with Feyenoord for the signing of Santiago Gimenez, however, the signing of the Mexican forward has yet to be ratified and there could now be a chance that the deal is off.
Nottingham Forest have been busy in the summer transfer window as they so often are, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side hope to beat the drop this summer after they came so close to relegation during the previous campaign.
A new striker, in the form of Gimenez, was one of their priorities but as of yet, the deal to take the Mexican to England has not been completed.

Santiago Gimenez turns down Forest’s approach
HITC understands that Forest have not given up hope of landing the Mexican forward but time is running out for the East Midlands side to sign the Feyenoord talisman.
Sources have told HITC that Gimenez has turned down the chance to move to Forest and is now considering his options with just days remaining before the window slams shut. The deal, however, is not completely off.
We understand that Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has been overseeing the talks himself as he is looks to secure the Mexican star.
Forest are set to be busy in the final few days of the transfer window with Nuno’s side seeing an offer for Yoanne Wissa turned down by Brentford. As for Gimenez, it appears that Forest will fight down to the wire to secure the signature of the Mexican forward.
Wissa may not be the only signing that Forest make in the final days of the window.
Nottingham Forest ‘make move’ for Roma’s Edoardo Bove
Calciomercato reports Forest are the only Premier League club to have made a concrete offer to Serie A side AS Roma for Edoardo Bove.
The reported offer was less than the player’s €15 million (£12.6 million) Roma valuation and the two clubs are now negotiating to ‘try and meet each other’s needs’.
HITC understands that there is some truth to the reports that Forest are interested in the Italian midfielder.
However, with just days to go, it appears that the East Midlands club are currently focusing their efforts on getting the Gimenez deal over the line.
