Caretaker boss Gary Brazil suffered a 5-1 mauling at the hands of Norwich City at the weekend.
Fears of relegation returned for Nottingham Forest fans after the Reds were annihilated 5-1 away at Norwich City at the weekend.
In truth, a thrashing had been coming. While Forest have successfully beaten teams around them in Rotherham United, Bristol City and Aston Villa, they’ve been massively riding their luck.
Norwich City’s Jonny Howson has now scored their first goal against Forest twice this season
Villa could – and really should – have beaten the Reds with the amount of decent chances they created, while going forwards, Forest have been relying on set pieces as they barely create anything from open play.
While some of Norwich’s goals were spectacular in nature, quite simply, if you allow quality players the time and space to shoot from distance, they will harm you – as proved on Saturday.
Norwich City’s Alex Pritchard had a blinder against Forest
Gary Brazil is a superb youth coach, but he’s not a first team manager. With all due respect, Forest shouldn’t be conceding five goals to anyone in the Championship, yet this is the second time it’s happened with Brazil at the helm.
Rather than wait until the summer, Forest really need to hire a manager now, and allow Brazil to continue his excellent youth work. Whether someone’s willing to work with owner Fawaz Al Hasawi or not is another story.
