Nottingham Forest boss has worked successfully with Kenny Miller before at Rangers.

Kenny Miller’s future at Rangers remains clouded after the striker was recently omitted from the first team squad by manager Pedro Caixinha and made to train with the under-20s.

At 38-year-old, it was a humiliation for the veteran, and while the situation could be patched up between now and January, a potential exit could be best for all.

A club who should consider bringing him in should be Nottingham Forest, who are managed by Miller’s former Rangers boss Mark Warburton.

Warburton was key in pushing the Rangers board to offer Miller a new contract before his departure, and made the striker a key part of his first team set up.

Miller has played in the Championship before, previously with Wolves, and could settle quickly.

He would benefit from playing alongside former Rangers teammate, winger Barrie McKay, who was surprisingly sold by the club this summer to Nottingham Forest.

Miller would only be a short term solution for Forest, but their goalscoring record suggests they could benefit from an extra hand.

Their 15 goals in 11 matches is not terrible, but it is hardly prolific either, and bringing Miller in could relieve pressure on youngster Ben Brereton.

It could be the move which at this points suits everybody, and lets Miller move on from Rangers and potentially end his season on a high if he can fire Forest into the play-offs.
