Loic Bade is reportedly close to signing for Sevilla on loan with the Nottingham Forest defender set have his loan spell with the Premier League side cut short in January.

According to AS, the La Liga and UEFA Champions League giants are moving closer to signing Bade on loan as the France youth international looks set to leave Forest without playing a single game or minute for Steve Cooper’s men.

Bade joined Forest on loan in the summer transfer window. However, despite arriving with a huge reputation, the 22-year-old has not played one minute of professional football for the Garibaldi this season, with a move to Sevilla now in the works.

As per the report, Sevilla will sign Bade on the exact same deal Forest agreed on earlier this year, with the Andalusian club having the option to purchase the defender on a permanent deal if the youngster impresses in Spain.

Indeed, the move is one that works out well for all parties, with Forest, in particular, doing well to rid themselves of Bade so soon, with the defender wasting up a place in the squad and proving to Cooper that the signing splurge in the summer wasn’t all that needed.

As for Bade himself, the defender will be pleased to finally be leaving the City Ground after a disastrous loan spell saw the talented centre-back not touch the field once in a competitive match, with the youngster hopeful that Sevilla is a more successful move.

Going from not playing a single minute with Forest to joining Sevilla is quite the story that few would have predicted for Bade this season, yet the Frenchman now has the chance to show off his quality in Spain with one of La Liga’s biggest clubs.

Forest were arguably harsh to not give Bade a single minute to showcase his talents, yet with a deal to bring the defender to Sevilla now close to being finalised, the centre-back will soon have the opportunity to prove to Cooper and quality how good a player he really is.
