Nottingham Forest may regret not loaning out Ryan Yates.

Ryan Yates remained with Nottingham Forest for this season and the decision not to send him out on loan looks a poor one now.
The 20-year-old is a highly-rated ace that is a product of the club’s academy and is being tipped to become a future first-team star.
But the midfielder has a huge problem in his way at the City Ground, as Aitor Karanka’s squad is filled with options in the centre of the park and his path to the first team looks blocked.
Adlene Guedioura, Jack Colback, Ben Watson, Ben Osborn, Matty Cash, Liam Bridcutt and Panagiotis Tachtsidis are all candidates for the central midfield position.
Forest could soon add another player to that selection mix too, as the Nottingham Post reports that they are closing in on a deal for free agent Claudio Yacob.
The 31-year-old Argentinian midfielder has a wealth of Premier League experience from his time with West Brom and may be an important player under Karanka.

Yacob’s potential arrival will only intensify Yates’ problem and could see him slip further down the pecking order.
Yates heavily impressed last season during loan spells with Notts County and Scunthorpe United, proving he can be a goalscoring option from midfield.
He is now entering a crucial part of his career where development is vital and having him sit around on the bench will stall his progress.
Karanka has given the central midfielder an outing in the EFL Cup, but it’s definitely worth Forest revising his situation in January and perhaps offering him another loan exit.
