Both sides have struggled under controversial ownership in recent years.
For the past few years Leeds United have been the laughing stock of the Championship. The club’s ownership under Italian maverick Massimo Cellino has, at times, been farcical.
The club have got through managers like underwear, Cellino has been in trouble with the FA on numerous occasions and the club has been through numerous controversies.

Throughout it all, they have struggled to be consistent in the league and fans across the league have been laughing at the club for too long.
But Leeds take on Nottingham Forest this week, who seem to have taken on the mantle of laughing stock all for themselves recently.
Leeds’ owner has taken a backseat this campaign. He appointed the right man in Garry Monk and has watched on as Leeds climb the Championship table and put themselves in promotion contention.
Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi
Meanwhile, at Forest, the ownership of Fawaz Al-Hasawi has been tumultuous again.
The club saw a takeover collapse recently, they sacked their manager after a poor run of form, transfer dealings have been non-existent or uninspiring and they just sold their captain and star player Henri Lansbury to league rivals Aston Villa.
Forest are now the laughing stock of the Championship, not Leeds, but it is a shame either of these great institutions has found themselves in that position in the first place.
Hopefully Forest can get themselves back on their feet soon.
