Gil Dias failed to score a single Championship goal for Nottingham Forest and left for the Greek powerhouses in the January transfer window.

Gil Dias hasn’t taken long to show Nottingham Forest what they are missing.
The Portuguese U21 international brought an end to an underwhelming spell at the City Ground towards the end of the January transfer window, moving to Evangelos Marinakis’ other club, the Greek giants Olympiakos, on loan until the end of the season.
In truth, Dias only showed flashes of his quality during his six months in English football. A sublime chip goal in a Man of the Match performance in August’s EFL Cup win against Newcastle United was about as good as it got.
But the Monaco-owned forward has finally ended his long goal drought in his first start in Olympiakos colours.

Dias capped a fine performance with a goal as Pedro Martins’ side drew 3-3 with PAS Lamia in the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup on Wednesday night. An early goal in a thrilling cup game; that will feel rather familiar for Forest fans who expected so much of a winger with undoubted potential.
Only time will tell whether Dias can build on this fine start or whether his first goal since August is another false dawn.
