Nottingham Forest are hopeful that they may be able to do a deal to sign Yaya Toure from Olympiacos.

Yaya Toure controls the ball during the Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2018 match between England and The Rest of the World at Old Trafford on June 10, 2018 in Manchester, England.

Nottingham Forest fans are dreaming about Yaya Toure joining them on loan in the January transfer window.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis also owns Olympiacos, and he has just signed Toure for the Greek side.

Forest and Olympiacos have already traded players in recent times, with the two clubs having good links.

And Forest fans are already dreaming about potentially seeing Toure join up with Aitor Karanka’s side midway through this season.

Toure signing for Forest, of course, looks extremely unlikely – but he would make a wonderful addition to their squad.

The Reds will be hoping that by January time they are in the thick of a promotion battle.

Karanka’s team have started the new campaign rather slowly, with Forest drawing too many games.

Forest head into the international break in 14th place in the Championship table, after losing their last match 2-1 against Brentford.
