Nottingham Forest have been handed a positive update ahead of the Championship season’s business end with the return of Tobias Figueiredo to first team training.

The 25-year-old defender has been out of action since mid-December with a dead leg and his absence coincided with the Reds’ form wobbling.

Earlier in the season, Figueiredo formed a solid partnership at the back with Michael Dawson, and they helped Forest go seven games without defeat.

However, the Portuguese and his teammate were both injured at similar times and, as such, the Trickies have had to try out several defensive combinations.

With Forest going into the international break having drawn one and lost one of their last two games – against Ipswich and Aston Villa respectively – any key player’s impending return to fitness is a great boost.

Figueiredo took to Twitter to post an image of himself in training complete with the caption “training, it’s good to be back”, several emojis and the NFFC hashtag:

The update pleased the Forest fan base, with some fans taking to the social media platform to reply with glee:

Up next for Forest is Saturday’s Championship clash with Swansea City at the City Ground, while the following week involves a trip to Rotherham United’s New York Stadium.
