The Sky Sports Championship XI does not feature any City Ground players – despite a perfect month league-wise – and some Forest fans weren’t impressed.

A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to criticise the player selection in the Sky Sports and Whoscored Championship Team of the Month.

The Reds had a superb September on the Championship front, winning all three of their league games and ending the month third in the table, just one point off top spot.

First up, Swansea City – top of the table ahead of kickoff – were beaten 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium, then Barnsley were defeated by the same scoreline at the City Ground and finally Stoke City were beaten 3-2 on their own turf.

Despite three wins out of three over the month, not one Forest player has made the Whoscored XI, which features three Sheffield Wednesday players, two each from Hull City and West Bromwich Albion, and one each from Fulham, Wigan Athletic, Queens Park Rangers and Derby County.

Needless to say some Reds fans weren’t impressed by the announcements on the Sky Sports Twitter channel and made their feelings known in the comments:

Forest are back in action on Tuesday night when Sabri Lamouchi and co they travel to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.
