The City Ground summer signing put in a decent performance in the cup which prompted a largely positive reaction from the Forest fanbase.

A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on John Bostock’s performance in the Reds’ 1-0 win over Fleetwood Town in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The 27-year-old joined the City Ground outfit on transfer deadline day, arriving on a season-long loan from French side Toulouse, and was handed his debut by Sabri Lamouchi on Tuesday night.
Although still a little rusty as he works his way up to full match fitness, Bostock was decent in possession, provided the pass for the winning goal, and overall put in a display which bodes well going forward.
On the flip side, however, he did pick up a booking for a couple of fouls, while his attempts towards goal were not the most impressive, and reaction online to his display was largely positive but not unanimously so.
Here is what some of the Trickies faithful said on social media regarding Bostock’s display against the Cod Army:
The winner came from Tiago Silva, who scored his first Forest goal on 59 minutes, collecting Bostock’s pass and cutting inside his marker before firing home, to edge the Championship side into a second-round tie against bitter rivals Derby County at the City Ground.
