On Monday night, another son of a now-retired player who lit up the City Ground put in a noteworthy display which has got a number of Forest fans raving about what the future holds for him.
Brennan Johnson, son of Forest 2000s goalscoring legend David Johnson, scored a wonderful hat-trick as the Reds Under-23s beat Ipswich Town 4-1 at Portman Road in their final game of the season.
The Trickies bagged four goals before half time in East Anglia, with the Wales youth international sealing his treble in the space of 20 minutes, which included a sumptuous free kick from all of 25 yards out, while Will Swan also netted.
Although Tom Adeyemi grabbed a consolation for the Blues, the day belonged to the visitors, and especially to the 17-year-old midfielder, who coincidentally sealed his hat-trick against Harry Wright, the son of David’s one-time teammate Richard (EADT).
