A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to comment on their team’s performance against Crystal Palace and new signing Tiago Silva came in for a lot of praise.

The 26-year-old joined the City Ground side earlier this month from Portuguese side Feirense on a two-year contract and Friday night was the first occasion that the Reds fans could see him and several other new arrivals on home turf.

Silva put in an impressive performance as Sabri Lamouchi’s charges claimed a 1-0 win over Roy Hodgson’s Premier League side, the playmaker showing great control on the ball and forging a great understanding with Ben Watson and Alfa Semedo.

The 5ft 7in ace also left Eagles goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey rooted to the spot as his free kick smashed against the woodwork, and when he was substituted with 12 minutes to go, he received a standing ovation from the City Ground stands.

Here is what some of the Trickies faithful said about Silva on the social media platform:

Up next for the Forest senior team are friendlies against Real Sociedad at the City Ground and Lincoln City at Sincil Bank before the Championship season gets under way at home against West Bromwich Albion.
