Nottingham Forest fans have predicted that one of Peterborough United duo Jack Marriott or Marcus Maddison is set to join them.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony confirmed yesterday that they had accepted a seven figure bid for one of their players.

And, with Forest said to be in the market for both Marriott and Maddison, Reds supporters now think they are edging closer to a signing.

Marriott, who has been in Spain recently, also rather intriguingly posted a cryptic tweet at the airport last night.

If Marriott or Maddison joined Forest, they would be exciting additions for Aitor Karanka’s side.

Marriott was the Football League’s top scorer last season, with the striker hitting the back of the net with great frequency.

Maddison, meanwhile, was a wonderful source of creativity for the Posh and could enhance Karanka’s attacking options if he was to move to the City Ground.

Forest are expected to be active in the summer transfer window, with Karanka looking to make significant improvements to his squad.
