Nottingham Forest midfielder Matty Cash has urged fans to stick together after back-to-back defeats, insisting they are ‘building something’ at the club.
Forest, who last week extended the stay of Gary Brazil as interim manager until the summer, have since lost successive away games at Norwich City and Fulham, by an aggregate scoreline of 8-3.
The results have dashed hopes of a possible top-half finish in the Championship, with the Trentside club now only seven points above the drop in 17th position – a situation which could get worse if Wolverhampton Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers win their games in hand.
It has been another turbulent campaign for Forest, who have seen two takeovers collapse, witnessed protests at Fawaz Al Hasawi’s ownership and sold one of their best players in each of the two transfer windows.
It is perhaps understandable then, that some fans are not buying Cash’s tweet.
That said, a spot of gallows humour never goes amiss…
Can Forest ever build something with Fawaz at the helm?
