But Reds fans do not seem to be too concerned that McKay could exit, with many Forest fans thinking a move would be best for him.
McKay only moved to Forest from Rangers last summer, and he impressed massively in his initial weeks with the club.
However, the 23-year-old’s form dropped off towards the end of the campaign.
Aitor Karanka often favoured using other players over McKay, with the attacker regularly left out of the Reds’ match day squads.
McKay finished the season having claimed five goals and seven assists for Forest in 26 Championship appearances.
