The Reds have handed squad numbers to 38 players as the City Ground side prepares for the 2019-20 Championship season.

A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the club’s post listing the squad numbers for the 2019-20 season (official Reds website), with a lot of the reaction suggesting that it shows an oversized, bloated squad that is in need of trimming.
A total of 38 Reds players have been given squad numbers – although Tyler Walker has since left on loan to Lincoln City for the season – with new numbers for Joe Worrall, Alex Milosevic and Matty Cash, moving to numbers 4, 6 and 11 respectively.
Numbers have been allocated to the new recruits, with Yuri Ribeiro (2), Rafa Mir (14), Alfa Semedo (17), Sammy Ameobi (19), Samba Sow (21), Tiago Silva (28) Albert Adomah (37) and Aro Muric (49) all in the list.
Meanwhile, youngsters Brennan Johnson (40), Jayden Richardson (45) and Alex Mighten (48) have been allocated squad numbers for the first time, the list published on the official Forest website ahead of Saturday’s Championship opener at the City Ground against West Bromwich Albion.
Here is some of the reaction from the Reds fanbase on social media to seeing the squad number announcement:
