Nottingham Forest fans react on Twitter to club’s tweets on record season card renewal numbers

The Championship club says 15,000 have already renewed their season cards.

Despite what is turning out to be a poor end to the Championship season, Nottingham Forest fans continue to fully get behind their team, as can be seen by the club’s announcement of 15,000 season cards renewed so far, and counting.

Martin O’Neill’s arrival at the City Ground back in January – shortly followed by that of Roy Keane – was received very well by the Trickies fanbase, who thought the Miracle Man was long overdue taking the reins at the club where he twice won the European Cup.

However, results have been largely inconsistent this year under the veteran manager’s watch, while April in particular has been nothing short of disastrous so far as Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers ran out winners over the Reds this month.

As a result, Forest are currently 11th in the Championship table, eight points behind sixth-placed Bristol City – who have a game in hand – with just four fixtures to go, so while the playoffs are not mathematically impossible, reaching them at this stage is a tall order.

Forest have taken to Twitter to praise their fanbase for their excellent support, with several posts including a video clip featuring messages of thanks from some of the players:

However, these messages largely backfired as some fans made their feelings clear on several things, including the desire to see a different kind of post featuring the words “club statement”:
