Tobias Figueiredo made his Nottingham Forest debut as they drew in their latest Championship clash.
Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Tobias Figueiredo’s performance on his debut for Aitor Karanka’s side as they drew with Burton Albion on Saturday.
Figueiredo has been one of many players to arrive at the City Ground since the final days of the January transfer window, and he got to make his first appearance for Forest as they travelled to the Pirelli Stadium looking to end their run of four consecutive defeats in all competitions.
They did ultimately manage to secure a point, but it was not the easiest afternoon for Karanka’s men, especially as they lost Eric Lichaj to a red card just 28 minutes into the game.
Burton dominated the contest but were unable to find a winner, and that was largely down to the displays of the likes of Figueiredo, Danny Fox and Costel Pantilimon, who defended the Forest goal extremely well to deny Burton a hugely important win.
After the game, a number of Forest fans took to social media to heap praise upon the January signing. Figueiredo arrived on loan having played just one game all season for Sporting, but showed little sign of rustiness against the Brewers.
His display has given the supporters some hope that he can help Forest end their recent struggles at the back and that he will prove to be a very good addition to the squad over the coming months.
