Glasgow Rangers loanee Joe Worrall endured a nightmare moment in the Ibrox side’s defeat.

Several Nottingham Forest fans have suggested that the club not bringing Joe Worrall back from Rangers has proved to be a blessing in disguise after the defender made a terrible mistake in the Gers’ defeat on Wednesday night.

Steven Gerrard’s side have it all to do in the Scottish Premiership title race after losing 2-1 at Kilmarnock in their first game following the winter break.

The game actually started perfectly for Rangers as Jermain Defoe marked his debut with an early goal. However, the two sides were level heading into the break – with Worrall’s error leading to the equaliser.

The Forest-owned centre-back was initially under no pressure to release the ball, but he took too long to play a pass and was dispossessed as he tried to find Allan McGregor, who was then beaten by Eamonn Brophy.

Following his performance in the Old Firm win in December, it appeared to be a major coup for the Gers when Gerrard confirmed – in comments reported by BBC Sport – that he would not be returning to the City Ground this month as Forest had missed the recall deadline agreed within his loan deal.

But after watching his performance at Rugby Park, plenty of Forest supporters are now suggesting that they are delighted that he will spend the rest of the season with Rangers.
