Joe Lolley was sensational as Nottingham Forest took a point from their Championship clash with Aston Villa.

Joe Lolley of Notts Forest scores to make it 4-3 during the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest at Villa Park on November 28, 2018 in Birmingham, England.

Several Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to laud Joe Lolley after the forward’s stunning performance in the incredible 5-5 draw away at Aston Villa on Wednesday.

Aitor Karanka’s men went into the clash off the back of three clean sheets and two wins in their last three games. And it appeared that they were going to get another victory as they took a 2-0 lead inside six minutes.

Lolley set up both goals. But Villa would respond and initially equalise before Matty Cash put Forest back in front – with Lolley providing the assist once again. Tammy Abraham would complete his hat-trick before the break to make the score 3-3.

Forest then went in front again as Lolley scored a screamer from distance shortly after the interval. His fourth assist came in the build-up to the game’s tenth and final goal to ensure that the points were shared.

Unsurprisingly, the Forest supporters cannot praise the 26-year-old high enough on social media. He has now scored six goals and provided six assists in the Championship, and has surely been the club’s best player since the latter stages of September.

And with Sky Bet reporting that he cost just £500,000 last January, many Forest fans are adamant that they have pulled off a masterstroke of a deal bringing Lolley in from Huddersfield Town.
